Topic:
What are the Right Blend of Business and Analysis Skills for a Business Analyst? presented by Sue Block.

Description:

Does a Business Analyst need to possess more business knowledge or analytical prowess? What is the right blend of both? There’s a continuing debate about how much business domain expertise a Business Analyst needs to have going into a new industry, job, or project. If a Business Analyst has strong business expertise, then can they learn to be analytical? If a Business Analyst has strong analytical ability, then can they acquire the business acumen? This presentation will discuss the pros and cons of emphasizing one skill set over another. Business Analysts and hiring managers will have preferences. We’ll open up the discussion to hear about the audience’s preference and industry trends.

  •       Understand the different perspectives on why each skill set is preferred
  •       Learn how to recognize and promote the right blend of business and analysis skills in yourself and others
  •       Gain insight into the current opinions of peers and industry
