WHERE TO MEET: The Meeting place Tuesday 4 Oct will be Valley Metro Shopping Centre Management office (opposite Fitness First), 230 Brunswick St Fortitude Valley.

Please note: we have organised for Valley Metro Management/security to escort participants to Dept Transport Ground level meeting room for pre and post briefing session in the morning and pre briefing session for the afternoon audit.

Assembly Time: 6.30am – 7am assembly and sign in of participants into groups (4 + 1 transport group with team leader Translink) Each group to nominate a scribe and photographer & team leader if not already supplied (suggest you might like some of your team involved in leadership)

7 - 9 am Safety Audit

9am – 9.30am Reassemble back departure point for debrief plus a handover of audit notes, cameras etc

WHAT TO WEAR: Sensible walking shoes, jacket as required and wear safety vest if part of your work requirements.

Communication: all participants are to supply their individual mobile phone number at time advising of their participation - so they can be contacted in an emergency or in case of cancellation due to extreme weather conditions by SMS or need to be contacted during the audit.

POST SAFETY AUDIT: The Valley Chamber will report notes, list of participants and insert photographs (will also contact group leaders and photographers as required for further info)

The Valley Chamber Community Safety Group – Lance Mergard as Co Chair will call a meeting of all group leaders to coordinate recommendations and active list of works to be completed and allocated to where necessary in order to improve the area.

Note this is not a media event and we are asking all participants not to engage with the media about this safety audit. Our interest is the improvement of the area and ascertain first hand an overview of current situation regarding access to and from public transport at key times and how it could be more effective.
