M.E.C.C.A. cordially invites you to come join us for our new Islamic studies program entitled “Al Kifayah min ‘Ulumid Din” (The Knowledge which is suffi cient among the Sciences of Religion). This exciting venture consists of one year of intensive study of the obligatory essentials of sacred knowledge for new Muslims. Our instructor will cover in detail the sciences of theology (Aqidah), Jurisprudence (Fiqh), and Spiritual Purifi cation (Tazkiyah). All references for this program will come from traditional works by the scholars of the Sunni tradition. Our core classes will be divided into 10 week sessions throughout the year consisting of 3 hours of instruction per class. Each 10 week session will cover a diff erent subject. The objective of this program is to produce knowledgeable students who will be qualifi ed to teach what they have studied. Upon completion of the entire program, those students who have successfully passed all the written and verbal examinations, will be given an Ijazah (Certifi cate of Authorization) in the information covered during the program. Although Al Kifayah is a one year program, students may join at any point. However, it is highly encouraged to attend the entire program in order to receive the maximum benefi t of the sciences. Our fi rst 10 week session will cover Islamic Belief (‘Aqidah). Our basic text will be the 12th treatise of the book entitled, “Al Majmu (The Compendium),” by As-Sayyid Abdullah bin Tahir Ba ‘Alawiyy. Supplemental information will be extracted from the creedal text, “Durus At Tawhid (Studies in the Divine Oneness),” a primer in the essential studies of the science of theology. Instructor: Imam Amin Muhammad is a native of Atlantic City, NJ who has studied with traditional Shuyukh from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Lebanon. Among the Shuyukh whom he has benefi tted greatly from are Shaykh Walid Ar Rifa’i, Shaykh Mahmud Addam, Shaykh Jamal Zahabi, Shaykh Samir An Nass, Shaykh Salahud Din Al Idlibiyy, Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Shaykh Abdullah bin Ali Basfar and others. He has studied many of the Islamic sciences such as ‘Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafsir, Sirah, Hadith, and Hadith methodology. Presently, Imam Amin teaches Hadith, Fiqh and delivers Jumu’ah Khutbah at Masjid Muhammad in Atlantic City, NJ. He teaches and lectures at various mosques in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware and is a teacher and advisor at M.E.C.C.A.
