How do you tell your nonprofit's story to a wider audience, from donors and public officials to volunteers and the populations you serve most effectively with limited resources?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This lively half-day workshop will give you the inspiration and information you need to tell your story creatively, while using free resources and material you already have in hand. By the time you leave the workshop, you'll be able to:
-Organize any content into a compelling spoken-word story that you can remember and tell without notes, just like a TED talk
-Make compelling visuals and infographics from existing materials
-Pull all your social (and other) statistics together in a compelling visual dashboard that can tell your story to funding sources
-Let YouTube put a channel together just for you, for free
-Turn social tools like Pinterest around to tell your story visually
-Repurpose the story you've already told--history--by using your archival and historic material to tell stories on social media
-Use quotes--what you and other people say about your organization--to tell your story visually on social media
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This half-day workshop will include plenty of time for your questions and ideas. We'll focus one hour each on these three areas: spoken-word storytelling; visual storytelling; and social-media storytelling. You'll see a rich array of free and easy-to-use tools that can help you tell your stories effectively--and cost-effectively--to a wider audience.

Workshop facilitator Denise Graveline is a Washington, DC-based communications consultant who provides social media strategies and public speaking training to a wide range of nonprofits, universities, government agencies, and corporations. She calls her consultancy Don't Get Caught to make sure you don't get caught behind the curve, speechless or without a message.
