Celebrate Women’s History Month with representatives from North Carolina’s key women leadership groups at the NC Women’s Roundtable. Participate in the release of three new ground-breaking reports on issues affecting women and girls in North Carolina.
• The Institute of Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) in partnership with the North Carolina Council for Women and Wells Fargo will release the Status of Women in North Carolina Report with new data on economic security/poverty, employment/earnings, health/well- being and political participation.
• Meredith College will release the Status of Girls in North Carolina Report
• North Carolina Women United will present their draft report card for the 2012 women’s assemblies.

Join us to discuss the findings and what this information means to women and girls in North Carolina. Develop strategies to strengthen alliances and create a common agenda for progress.

12:30 p.m. Keynote speaker Ariane Hegewisch, Study Director with IWPR
2:00 p.m Break out discussions on the following key indicators:
-Childcare facilitated by Stephanie Fanjul. President of NC Smart Start and the Partnership for Children;
-Economic Security facilitated by Lisa Yarrow Co-Director for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit at UNC Charlotte;
-Health facilitated by Maria Spaulding former Deputy Secretary at NC DHHS;
-Public Policy facilitated by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
3:30 p.m. - Groups reconvene to discuss future action steps
4:00 p.m. - Adjourn
