Students who participate in this project will learn about conservation and composting. They will be taught how compost is made, it’s components, and why it is used in the garden. They will be working with staff to distribute the compost on the garden. Students will have a 20-minute break halfway through the morning where they are given a power bar and a bottle of water. Parking is on the right hand side of the street; the garden is on the left hand side. Parents MUST walk child across street to the gardens when the stop them off.
Must wear closed toed shoes with socks, ABSOLUTELY NO FLIP FLOPS or sandals. A billed hat and sunscreen is recommended. In case of rain, check The Volunteer Center home page at 8 am and there will be a notice saying if the project is cancelled.
