Event Details
In this interactive workshop, you will learn the traditional Yoruba songs sung for the ancestors along with the English translation and the Yoruba pronunciation of the songs. You will learn at least 6 songs to be sung for your ancestors. More songs will be taught based on the learning speed of the class.
Topics to be discuss will include:
• Yoruba Egun songs currently sung in Yorubaland
• Corrected versions of some Egun songs sung in the dispora
• Correct pronunciation of Yoruba words
• Yoruba Ancestral Chants
Included in this workshop will be a Yoruba Ancestral song guide as well as a cd with the songs.

About the Presenter:
Baba Faseye Sangobukunmi also known as Baba Faseye, is a traditional Yoruba priest and diviner of Sango and Ifa initiated in Yorubaland into the Sango priesthood by the Elegun of Sango, Baba Sangodele Ibuowo and into the Ifa priesthood by Baba Fakayode Faniyi and the Idin Ileke Ifa Temple. He has been conducting workshops on various aspects of the indigenous Yoruba Spiritual tradition over the past 6 years. He is also a certified Holistic Health Coach and third-degree Reiki Master. He studied African holistic health and traditional African medicine with various healers and received his certification as an African healer in African Science and Healing by Dr. Kofi Asare, noted Ghanaian healer and herbalist. He also apprenticed under Malidoma Some, Dagara elder where he studied indigenous African Spiritual Technology and ancestral divination. He has a Master's Degree in Holistic Nutrition Education. He is also a documentary filmmaker who has just released his latest film called, Odun Osun Oshogbo: The Return to Water, about the orisa Oshun and the Oshun Oshogbo Festival in Nigeria.
