It has been my intention to try to recreate, on a very modest level, the experience a number of us had almost ten years ago now, of the three Aiki Expos which Stan Pranin put together. For a number of us, those events were paradigm shifting. I believe that 20 years from now they will be seen as pivotal moments in American Aikido. But many people could or did not take advantage of those events, so I have attempted to gather a set of world class teachers who, in their own ways, can demonstrate the kind of technical mastery and clarity of principle in their instruction that would allow another generation of instructors to make the kind of jump in the level of their Aikido which some of us did after those first Expos.
I especially wish to thank Kimberly Richardson Sensei for offering the use of her beautiful dojo for this event. Feel free to let any potentially interested parties know about this event. We are currently free to publicize the event as widely as possible. There is a limit of 65 attendees and it will almost certainly be full well in advance so get registered soon.

Howard Popkin - Daito Ryu

This event will be limited to 65 participants to allow for individual attention and enough space to train effectively. Registration will be on a first come first serve basis. There will be no partial attendance charge or per class fee. Since the intention is for instructors to be able to play off each other and build from one class to another, we are not encouraging pick and choose participation.
The cost for this event will be $200 and registration will be available only on-line and in advance. I hope that, given over a year of advance warning budgeting both the time and the money for such an opportunity will be possible for anyone.
