Asphalt paving has never been more complex, and expectations for a quality job have never been higher! This intense, half-day class will cover the most important areas that you need to know to ensure a quality paving project that will last for many years.

Who should attend?  Contractor and public works paving crews, supervisors, inspectors and others who care about delivering a quality paving job. IMPORTANT NOTE: This special free preview class is open to CalAPA members only. Other classes will be open to all others later this year.

How can I register?  Space is limited so this class is on a first-come, first served basis. Pre-registration is required and must be completed on-line.

How much does it cost to attend?  Registration fees for this classes will be $59 for CalAPA Members, $59 for Safety Center, Inc., Members, $59 for public agency representatives, and $79 for all others. IMPORTANT NOTE: This first "preview"class is free and open to CalAPA members only. Where is the seminar being held?  The seminar is being hosted by the Safety Center, Inc., Room 108,  3909 Bradshaw Road in Sacramento. There's plenty of onsite free public parking.

What time is the seminar?  The seminar will begin at 8 a.m. sharp, and ends at noon. Check-in opens at 7:30 a.m. IMPORTANT NOTE: For this preview class only, class attendees will be asked to stay through lunch to provide feedback on the class to the instructor. All those who stay will be provided lunch FREE.

Who is the instructor?  The instructor for this class is Skip Brown, a second-generation paving contractor and owner of Delta Construction and Asphalt Consulting Services. He has personally supervised the placement of more than 4 million tons of asphalt in many public and private projects in California.
The class has been reviewed by the CalAPA Education Committee:  Tim Denlay with Knife River, Jack Van Kirk with George Reed, Inc. Tracy Zubek with DeSilva Gates Materials, Paul Curren with Pavement Engineering and Roger Smith, an asphalt consultant and former senior engineer at the Caltrans TransLab.
