Chinese Arts & Craft B218 With Lisa Zhang & Helen Song
This course will open to Secondary students from all the year groups. It includes card making, Chinese calligraphy, making Chinese knot, Chinese cutting etc. This ASA plunges the students directly into Chinese culture and traditions. It would be expected that their work can be displayed and decorate their own rooms, Chinese classrooms or even school and theatre stage during Chinese New Year.
Dr Who Club B303 With Sean Hickman
Doctor who has been running for 779 episodes as of September 2011 and it has an ever increasing fanbase throughout the world. One might ask why the Doctor enthrawls audences of all ages, and this is a difficult question to answer. The Doctor ASA hopes to not only explore the fandom that revolves around the Doctor but also explore the moral, political, and historical images that one might find in the series.

In this club students will be looking at problems and issues that affect people all over the world. We will investigate local and international issues, develop publicity campaigns to raise awareness of these issues around the school and see what changes we can make to these issues in our day to day lives. We will also try to arrange talks and make connections with speakers and experts on these issues. We will initially focus on enviromental issues but will also look at other subjects in future.
Spoken Chinese B219 With Chen Hua
This course is open to Secondary students and staffs who are beginners but willing to study spoken Chinese for daily life. We will teach basic knowledge about Chinese language, such as pronunciation and tones, Chinese characters and strokes, and also the words, expressions and conversations for everyday use. The topics include: greeting, shopping, dining, traveling and accommodation etc.
Film Club B321 (Weds. & Thurs.) With Terry Vinagre
Film-making at BSB aims for students to learn techniques of scriptwriting and read scripts of well known films before being encouraged to write scripts for their own stories. The best script(s) will be selected to go through the film production stages by the students themselves.

Secondary students are warmly welcome to this new beginner’s class of German. You will get a first impression of the German language and culture, gaining basic grammar, vocabulary and structure knowledge. No previous knowledge required.
Robotics Mindstorm Room With Nathaniel Brown
This term we will be getting ready for the Lego Mindstorm competition that will be happening in early next year. This will involve building the Lego and then using Mindstorm programming to attempt the challenges.

Secondary French native pupils or near-native pupils will meet once a week with the 2 French native teachers in order to improve their speaking, reading and writing skills. The content may vary according to the needs of individuals, but will include learning through games, songs, poems and books for young children. The older pupils may focus more on their reading comprehension and their writing (spelling and grammatical accuracy).
