Class Details -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sacred Stone Therapy combines the art of stone bodywork with the ancient science of Ayurveda. Sacred Stone Therapy is a 75 minute calming, peaceful and restorative experience.
Sacred Stone Therapists focus on anchoring the first and second energy centers in the body (chakras) and directing energy towards the "terminal ends" of the body. The sequence and layout of each stone makes this therapy distinctively Ayurvedic. The integration of our signature techniques such as gliding, spinning and edging with the stones, combined with western & eastern massage techniques, the client will feel grounded, centered and nurtured. This therapy is not a "light-touch" treatment, although it can be if that is the intention.
Our textured stones allow therapists to grip the fascia and provide, deep, structurally restorative treatments, without pain. Our stones are larger than most stones used in spas or training classes, hence, the weight of the stones provides natural compression therapy, which has been clinically shown to reduce anxiety and pacify the vata dosha. Our teachers do not use scary, unfamiliar Sanskrit terminology, so anyone can take this class and understand the science of Ayurveda. Students don't need to have any Ayurvedic background to take this class. Each student will have a chance to give and receive a full Sacred Stone Treatment.
The beauty of Sacred Stone Therapy is manifested in the compassion extended from the therapist to the client. This compassion becomes imprinted within the matrix of each stone.
~~ Student Objectives ~~ After completing this course in Ayurveda and Sacred Stone Therapy, the student should be able to:
Describe the history of stone healing. Learn how to maintain, clean and recharge the stones. Understand the precautionary measures. Comprehend the profound benefits of Sacred Stone Therapy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About Sacred Stone -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sacred Stone Holistic Education Center is dedicated to providing high quality learning experiences through homestudy programs and on-site classes for massage therapists, aestheticians, yoga enthusiasts, and other healing professionals.
We specialize in the art of heated & cooled sea stone bodywork as it merges perfectly with the principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda means "The science of life," and is the ancient medical system of India. It is a collaborative body-mind-spirit physiotherapeutic healing system based on restoring the balance of the five great elements - ether, air, fire, water and earth.
It is our mission to teach the ancient, mystical knowledge of the east, merge it with the west and share the simple wisdom of Ayurveda and how it can be used as an adjunct to modern medicine.
