1/24 & 1/31: Oaxacan Alebrijes Animal Project

Leader: Ann Mayer
Come learn about the history and tradition of Oaxacan wood carving in Mexico.  We will look at examples of these magical works of art and talk about how no two pieces are ever the same. We then will create our own style of Alebrijes by assembling scraps of wood, corks and other decorative materials.  Then paint our imaginative little animals using the bright colors and patterns of Oaxaca.
