Event Details
Housing Matters for a Sustainable Greensboro: We’re on the path to a green, healthy, affordable, fair future!
Greensboro is becoming a national leader for sustainable housing. Shelley Potica, HUD's top sustainability advisor, will be the keynote speaker, with presentations by state leaders John Morrison (NC Commerce, Office of Energy) and Martha Are (NC Recovery, Homeless Prevention Rapid Rehousing); Chris Kukla (Center for Responsible Lending); and local leaders April Harris (ActionGreensboro), Mark Sills (FaithAction), and Bob Powell (Community Sustainability Council)--plus the Healthy Homes bus tour video.
Greensboro is preparing its five year housing plan for 2010-2014 and everyone will have the opportunity to select priorities and discuss strategies for the Consolidated Plan for Housing Activities. Everyone will benefit when we reach our goal for sustainable housing because we will conserve energy and water, decrease health costs, increase stability, and build social capital. Come with us on the green path to the future!
