Event Details
In traditional Yoruba religion, oriki is a genre of literature which is used to not only to praise noteworthy people, but also Òrìsà and other spiritual forces. Oriki are used to invoke and illicit the positive response of the Òrìsà. Learn some of the traditional Yoruba oriki used to invoke some of the major Òrìsà in this lively and engaging workshop. Learn the meaning and the correct pronunciation of the oriki to effectively worship the Òrìsà.
In this workshop you will learn:
 Traditional oriki for Obatala, Eshu, Ifa, Oshun, Sàngó, Egbe, Olokun, and Ogun
 The translation of each oriki in English.
 The proper pronunciation of each oriki.
 The commentary and contextual background of each oriki.
Included in this workshop will be a study guide which includes all the oriki with Yoruba and English translation as well as an audio cd of the oriki.

Baba Faseye Sangobukunmi is a traditional Yoruba priest of Ifa, Sango, and Egungun, documentary filmmaker, certified Holistic Health Coach, diviner and third-degree Reiki Master. He was initiated into the Sango priesthood in Nigeria by Sangodele Ibuowo, the Elegun Sango of Koso, Oyo State, Nigeria. He was also initiated into the Ifa priesthood by Baba Fakayode Faniyi and members of the Idin Ileke Ifa Temple in Osogbo. He was also initiated as an Egungun priest by Baba Ogunjinmi Meta Ifasola, head Egungun priest of Osogbo.

Baba Faseye also completed a 2-year Indigenious African Spiritual Technology apprenticeship under the direction of Malidoma Some, African Shaman. Baba Faseye holds a Master's Degree in Holistic Nutrition Education and heads the Ile Ori L'Agba spiritual community and learning center. He also produced the documentary film, Odun Oshun, about the Osun Osogbo Festival.

Baba Faseye conducts various workshops on various aspects of healing within the context of Ifa and African Indigenous Spiritual Technology. He also provides spiritual guidance through Ifa divination, and other spiritual divination methods. He trains students from all walks of life in the spiritual arts of Ifa, spiritual healing, orisa worship and practice, African Spiritual Technology, ancestral veneration and herbal and spiritual medicine. He is available for private and public workshops and training as well as to conduct rituals.
