Shine in the World Ministries, was founded in 2005 by Sammy Wanyonyi. Born in rural Kenya, at the age of eight, Sammy felt a special call from God to be a communicator of the message of hope to this generation. In January 1998, Sammy came to the United States to commit himself to full-time global evangelism.
Since then, God has allowed SWIM to touch thousands of people around the world. The Festivals of Hope campaign has traveled to Rwanda, DR. Congo, and India. Each festival drew more than 60,000 people. Thousands have come to embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior as a result. Equally, leadership and governance conferences that accompany the festivals have equipped thousands of Christian leaders such as businessmen and women, politicians, and pastors to lead like Jesus.
Sammy is a prominent speaker, author, and evangelist. He holds a Bachelors in Cross-Cultural Studies and a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. He also serves as the Pastoral Associate at Westwood Community Church in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Sammy is married to the love of his life Suzanne, a native of Southwest Minnesota. Together, they are unequivocally committed to the work of Jesus.
