Target Haiti is a fundraising event for Free the Children and its initiatives to help those who have been affected by the earthquakes that have struck Haiti as of late. This event is aimed at bringing together George Brown students, faculty and local businesses and people alike. It is being organized by a group of students in the Special Event Planning program at George Brown College who have, in the wake of this crisis, felt the need to do something with their abilities as planners to raise as many dollars as possible to this cause. All of the proceeds from this event will go directly to Free the Children who are taking 100% of the profits and putting them to their Target Haiti relief campaign. Target Haiti will take place on Wednesday March 3, 2010 from 6:30pm to 10:00pm. For this event we are expecting, based on our network contacts within the school and the surrounding community, 500 people to attend and raise over $10,000. This cocktail style reception will inform and entertain guests at the same time. This will occur with various forms of entertainment on stage and on the main floor and a silent auction. Food and drinks will be served all night along with the performances. Auctions will close earlier in the evening as to award the auction items to their respective winners.
